Sweet Peas grow well from seed and go on producing flowers the more they are cut. Sow undercover at the start of spring and plant out once you have hardened them off. Seeds should be planted around 4cm under the soil. You can also sow them undercover in the autumn to produce bigger plants. Autumn sown seeds will not need pinching out but early spring seeds will benefit from being pinched once they are around 12cm tall. They are a hardy annual and prefer to be in full sun. Ideally they should be spaced 20cm apart and will grow up to 2 metres tall. They will flower throughout the summer months in shades of pink, purple, red, and white.
